080392 Parentheses - An interruption of continuity; an interval. "This is one of the things I wasn't prepared for — the amount of unfilled time, the long parentheses of nothing" (Margaret Atwood). “For every period of time when you exist, short or long, there is a temporal part of you that exists only then. And for any temporal parts of any objects whatsoever, there is a larger object made up of just those parts.” - John Locke "Every time I enunciate 'I', even in my thought, an identity is assumed, and this identity is itself not simple, but a figure of a complex gathering of personal and impersonal histories, texts, discourses, beliefs, cultural assumptions, and ideological interpellations...it is not an artifact but a process." - Richard Dyer

I need a little more luck than a little bit. short post, hopefully. a list of what ive done; Saturday - went out w Lilin, AGAIN YES AGAIN cos no one else likes shopping as much as we do :] everyone prefers to sleep in these days, shucks. okay so we went to marina sq & raffles city this time. she bought heels that were 12$ and no before you get the wrong idea, it rly doesnt look like those that'll fall apart. it looks damn good and i almost, almost, bought one too. but insteaddd, i bought brown gladiator sandals!!! :D which were at 20$. and gah, the multitudes of straps are super irritating! i tried so many different kinds on in order to find one that looks strappy enough but not too difficult to put on. when i finally decided on one, i was too shagged to unbuckle all that straps so i just paid for it and walked out with it lol. i love and hate that shoe. anw it was a very satisfying shopping day! :)) Sunday - had church. after watching the missionary dvd i felt as if nthg i ever choose to do in the future wld be gratifying enough for me unless i choose missionary work. it is as if working in other jobs wld seem like pursueing emptiness or it'll just be an endless pursuit of material wants. i wldnt mind going out into a jungle in africa to live with tribes and preach God's message to them (: i think its meaningful and i wont hv to feel pressured by society's expectations & conventions. i think missionary work wont even feel like work! so i decided i shld look into sociology as a subj i cld take in the Unis :) then for dinner, went to someone's hse to hv bbq food. it was real good, had bbqed hotdogs, steak, ribs, scallops, fish, prawn and mushrooms. watched hsm2 which rly seems like bollywood on second thought :/ Today! - went out to hv brunch at nuss. that place has vvv good food now that its renovated. the chilli crab is awesomeee :DDD but today we had salads, pizza, pasta, sandwich and soup. later on we'll be heading to the Flyer! and my dad has this free boat ride down the s'pore river tooo :))) this wk thr's gna be the window shopping thing for alvl subjs. im at a loss, srsly. im torn btwn choosing smthg i can do well in and smthg i rly like. i rly enjoy humanities but i suck at it. failed ss and hist multiple times so i dno if i shld continue taking humanities. on the other hand bio & chem im quite secure of how to study for it & the marks too, but i dont like what im learning and i dont see myself doing sci as my job in the future. instead i find law&econs or politicalscience&philo very appealing. so how!? if i choose humanities, im even more undecided at whether to do hist/cse/elit/els. sighs! however, ive also thought of enrolling myself in a culinary school. i rly dont mind making pastries and desserts, or working with chocolates and wine. really, why not? finally, i shall end with a funny instance i suddenly recalled; pei en: hey do you know the school's postal code? me: uh i think its 109433 pei en: thanks! shanice: wah how come you know ah me: ... shit! was that the gonghan postal code?!
