Parentheses - An interruption of continuity; an interval.
"This is one of the things I wasn't prepared for — the amount of unfilled time, the long parentheses of nothing" (Margaret Atwood).

“For every period of time when you exist, short or long, there is a temporal part of you that exists only then. And for any temporal parts of any objects whatsoever, there is a larger object made up of just those parts.” - John Locke
"Every time I enunciate 'I', even in my thought, an identity is assumed, and this identity is itself not simple, but a figure of a complex gathering of personal and impersonal histories, texts, discourses, beliefs, cultural assumptions, and ideological interpellations...it is not an artifact but a process." - Richard Dyer

THE WR IS FINALLY FINISHED. NOW I WANT TO EDIT ALSO CANNOT! CANNOT, YOU KNOW!!!!! HAHAHAAHAHA!!!!

pure ecstasy. everyone let's see your happy faces! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

sleep at last. i need to get rid of my pimples and eyebags. sleeping at 3 makes me operate in a trance-like state, and i do stupid things like pouring milo powder into a plate and nearly putting boiling water into it. i am crazy. i have no more common sense left in me. i cannot think straight. i am zombified. i am running on autopilot, such that i feel like opening the latest WR and checking my email whenever i switch on the computer. I NEED TO GET OUT OF THE HYPNOTIC CURSE OF PW (Pointless Work, according to Fikri)!!!!!!!! i need to delete my ST from speed dial. i need marathon sleeps. but there had to be tennis tmrw. and if tmrw rains i'll snap, cos i could have been sleeping.

on another note, today was a warm (the smiles, not the weather or the library) and happy day! :) after tidying up the files and submitting the WR at 11am, i basically slacked in school until 230pm, helping wee's grp go through the same stuff. zhiyong is a hero, braving the storm to go home and colour print their WR *swoons*. was hoping to play tennis, but the rain spoiled it. in any case, i enjoyed talking with wee and pam, reading Edward Lear's Book of Nonsense (published in 1846!!!) in the cosy library, eating cold food in the canteen, hearing the steady pelting of the rain... letting the fact that the worst (WR) is finally over sink into my head. came home, lazed on the couch and read the papers for over an hour despite having read it with jianlong in the morning. played the piano for hours on end (i think nearly 3), memories, moments popping up in my mind at random, fingers running, pounding chords...

and have i told you how my piano pieces keep getting stuck in my head all day? the notes, profound and eerie, run through my head. my fingers tap out the rhythm, in a code only i understand, churning out the melody. i struggle to remember more. but only phrases of it play out, like a chorus that keeps repeating, like a motif that keeps appearing. these days, more than ever, once i reach home i flip open my piano and play them over and over. what is this?

also, i'm getting very addicted to Mika's songs. my favourite is Relax, Take it Easy. i listen to it to calm my nerves when doing PW. here's the video (i looove his videos):

i believe there is method in his madness.

he is such a talent, i want to meet him!
