Parentheses - An interruption of continuity; an interval.
"This is one of the things I wasn't prepared for — the amount of unfilled time, the long parentheses of nothing" (Margaret Atwood).

“For every period of time when you exist, short or long, there is a temporal part of you that exists only then. And for any temporal parts of any objects whatsoever, there is a larger object made up of just those parts.” - John Locke
"Every time I enunciate 'I', even in my thought, an identity is assumed, and this identity is itself not simple, but a figure of a complex gathering of personal and impersonal histories, texts, discourses, beliefs, cultural assumptions, and ideological interpellations...it is not an artifact but a process." - Richard Dyer

recent rushing of unfinished homework has put me into a state of ultimate mugger mode. not that it isnt good. only that im still unable to finish them. literature homework seems never, ever, ever ending.

4F chalet was a reminder of how much we're growing old. the effects are tremendous. i think we all slept a lot in this chalet compared to in others - maybe its the January effect. i slept like 9hours!!!! we can never finish watching movies at night already. on the 2nd night we were so determined to keep awake that we even EXERCISED! mad funny. yeah but the one thing special abt this chalet is the closer bonds we forged. lunch on 2nd day was BEST - best company, best conversation i had in a real long time. at any point in time in the chalet its just a really-happy-to-be-here feeling, not the stone, sian, lets go out kinda feeling. people playing the guitar, watching videos, doing homwork (:D), cooking noodles, playing cards, having small chats.. it's really like a home, a family. im really glad for 4F. at one point while doing homework i looked around, seeing people's laughter & smiles and not a single grouchy face, its just so rare and so precious a time. i couldn't ask for more.

the bym westside story planning has been awesome too. it was fun getting to know all of them.. and realising how small Singapore is. just try talking to any stranger and you'll soon find out that you both are somewhat related. its crazy.

on a side note, you know what is worse than breaking your promises?
promising and promising and promising before that, and then going on to break it.

sigh some days i feel that my days are just plans waiting to happen. that each day i wake up im just following this dumb routine/schedule, living out what ive planned to earlier. and the fact that there's no space for spontaneity drains the life out of me. never have my holidays been so routine. i actually knew my whole schedule from post OP to 6 Jan at the start of November. only that that schedule was not all and more & more stuff began to fill out whatever tiny spaces of time there is left in it. here's some very nerd confessions for you: i havent went out shopping since 14Nov on Shanice's birthday. i've not watched movies since dont know when (..maybe same day too, My Girlfriend's An Agent?), and the only one ive watched since then is Avatar during 4F chalet -.- i just had to do it before the holidays end, if not i've not watched a single movie (when there are so many exciting ones to watch now!!) during the holidays. wait, that's an oxymoron.

I, DESPERATELY, NEED TO B R E A T H E
