Parentheses - An interruption of continuity; an interval.
"This is one of the things I wasn't prepared for — the amount of unfilled time, the long parentheses of nothing" (Margaret Atwood).

“For every period of time when you exist, short or long, there is a temporal part of you that exists only then. And for any temporal parts of any objects whatsoever, there is a larger object made up of just those parts.” - John Locke
"Every time I enunciate 'I', even in my thought, an identity is assumed, and this identity is itself not simple, but a figure of a complex gathering of personal and impersonal histories, texts, discourses, beliefs, cultural assumptions, and ideological interpellations...it is not an artifact but a process." - Richard Dyer

the Calm before a storm,

yay its saturday & i absolutely heart saturdays cos they are the fun days & thr's always saturday night movie on ch5 to look fwd to ;) its scorpionking tonight, abit turned off by the word scorpion but i'll still watch it. OH! i forgot to say i loved LOTR veryverymuch [: i like the whole shooting of the movie, the props, costumes, make up, CGI.. i wished i could produce a movie too. its so worth the yrs shooting it, seeing the fruit of your labour, the story, being completed & at its utmost perfection produced for all the world to see (:

today had piano in the morning. skipped last wk's cos of RHday stuff and tuition, totally had no time to even squeeze in an hour of lsn. entertained much thoughts abt dropping piano. i just dont see myself playing it in a concert whtvr. besides, im too afraid to teach piano in case the student cant score well & i'll feel bad getting so much money for it. yes you're right, the only reason im learning it is so i can earn some easy cash in the future, pragmatic hor. & also my parents paid for these lsns, the least i cld do is finish G8, earn some money with it & pay them back for all these yrs of sponsoring me for this parent-initiated activity.

ok back to topic, after which i went to jie1 Wanting from acs bus stop. she lives at bb yet she's earlier than Shanice who lives less than 100m away from me, "what does this reflect about you?" (typical teacher's petphrase). anw my parents bought some rose syrup & condensed milk for us to try out the ratios. i swr we're like one drop away from diabetes after drinking it 3 times w/o diluting it with water. it was sweet like dno what. after we got the ratios right, we went to Shanice's clubhouse to do hmwk :D im superduper proud of us! we managed to finish bio assgmt while eating calbee's hot&spicy within a flat 40mins. the security guard was asking us to hide our chips whenever his boss comes lol. oh & some angmoh asked if he cld take a picture of us studying in the reading room-.- wah hope we dont appear on newspaper or smthg. yup then aft doing our bio assgmt, we waited for wanting to finish her physics assgmt. we read her notes meanwhile & i once agn congratulated myself for the nth time on making such a wise decision in yr2 to not take physics. anw later on we went to ntuc to buy rose syrups and condensed milk. weirdly, the prices thr are cheaper than in shopnsave. after which they bought waffles while i bought bubble tea & we stopped at some ulu corner near the carpark to eat/drink. then on the way back, Wanting left for the bus stop. she had to jaywalk and Shanice & me were so afraid that we had to see that she jaywalked safely to the other side. aft which we both just parted ways. had such a fun day! we agreed to mug tgt before eoys at Shanice's clubhouse :D

hm will be joining bnco as instructor liao i guess. Stella & Lynette not joining! Lilin also scared her results will drop so maybe not joining. sighsss. im also scared :[ results are like everythg now. still, i very much want to be an instructor. i have to choose whether im going & which department im interested in by 23July. called Zhixiang to get his opinions but we drifted off to lame topics like the schl overseas trip, RH day foodstalls, pd, etc. anw calling him didnt help, he encouraged me to go Programme while i preferred Admin. i hate choosing btwn these two. on one hand, programme lets you interact with pple, and seeing your planning coming into action is certainly very satisfying and gratifying. however, the scolding rate from officers is confirm 10 upon 10. Admin like no one will scold you as long as you do it properly, & thr is a lack of people who are willing to do admin so i dont mind helping. altho you dont see direct results in admin, its actually the most essential part of the whole event. w/o admin, everythg is nothing. & with so little pple doing it, the burden is heavy for those doing, so i dont mind helping out. but then agn, i sort of enjoy doing Programme. big heavy sighs! :(
